Before anything else I need to say a word of thanks to George Palmer. George resigned as President due to other comitments not leaving him enough time or energy to carry on running the club. He's been involved since the beginning and has put in so much time and effort that he more than deserves to be able to focus on building his new house.
So now it is my turn!
I have a simple goal.
I'd like to see a true national series that has the support of all competitors from both the 4x4 Challenges and the Mainland series. The new rules committee is already assessing our rules to see what can be done to make this possible and some progress has already being made. This will mean some small changes but in general it will allow more people to be involved and should reduce the cost.
So with this in mind there will be a few changes being made. The new rules committee (headed by Jack Talbot) will be in contact with everyone and there will be quite a bit happening here on the forum. You will have a chance to have your say and the more that do the better off we will be.
The current plan is to have the 2009 rules published by December. At the same time I'd like to have a calander set by then as well. So if you are planning an event can you please contact me direct as I'd like to co-ordinate the competitions as much as possible so that we don't get clashes and have enough time between events.
So spread the word and get people involved as without the support of those actually out there racing, it is all just a waste of time!
