Looking at there specs it appears that the main difference is they allow a 4 point where ours is a 6 point ,If we are to continue going down the road of comps getting faster and faster then i would Not be in favour of going backwards and having 4 point cages ,I think they have there place in a CLUB Class event as these stages are set with that in mind but with the speeds and tracks we are now doing i would not like to be the event director having to explain to the Police and competitors family why we allowed a backward step in saftey if it went wrong ..Steve |

I made this suggestion but it was suppose to include a clause that stated "must be 6 point". |

I agree 100% Steve. I probably didn't explain things well enough above (sorry). The idea is to accept mainland winch challenge rules for 6 point roll cages only (not 4 points). |

Another thing to consider is that most people are saying they want the tracks to be slower! This doesn't change the safety requirements and the need for 6 point cages but it is a feeling that the track setters need to take on board. |

I read the rules from the link and was left wondering if MANZ is a different organisation to that we have to answer to in the North Island (no flames please). There is also a number of clauses which don't actually require a specific standard. I think we should stick with the MANZ, ORANZ or CCDA standards as present. These 3 are well recognised and well researched, comprehensive and well understood throughout the whole country. Why reinvent the wheel? I also missed the reason for the 6mm hole in the main hoop! Is it the hour or the beer? |
