The AGM on 20-6-2010 wasn't heavily attended. The elections saw Darin Neely returned unopposed as President, along with Eileen Austin as Secretary, Peter Vahry as Treasurer and Jack Talbot as Vice President.
Financially the club ended the year with a loss, but is generally in good health.
The annual subscription for the club was set at $10 for non-competing members and $20 for competitors (both are GST inclusive) For NZFWDA membership if members are not already members through another club, there is an additional $30 (inc GST)

A constructive general meeting followed.

Insurance

There has been concern among some competitors coming into the winch challenge sport, that the requirement for having insurance is unnecessary and expensive.

The 2008 AGM still felt that such insurance does offer protection in many situations and it was pointed out that through the Auckland 4WD Club, there is a Public Liability cover for vehicles while being used off main roads and that they need not be registered.

The annual fee is $50. The insurance covers the period from Dec to Dec and as it is a low premium, there is no pro-rata system.

This policy is open to any NZFWDA club members and provides cover during any club organised event.

Hi every one, at the recent AGM I was voted in as club president for the coming year. So I guess it’s my job to maintain this club as a vital member of the 4 wheel drive community. To do this I need your help. I need you to pay your subs, which for existing members is only $6.00; I need you to encourage others to become members. By being members you can have your say and guide us in the direction you believe is best for your sport.
Most importantly I need your ideas.
Do you want 4x4 Challenges to run a competition?
If so what type. I.e. full winch challenge, club class challenge, Mud drag.
Any of the above will need your help in many ways, Land, organisers and labour as well as competitors and sponsors.
We also need a sponsor for the website, so if you know of anyone who would benefit by having their name on this site please ask them to contact me.

We intend to maintain and update the rules that have evolved over many years.
Again we need your input, is there any rule that needs to be added, amended or removed?
We are currently looking at a couple of rule variations as raised at the AGM.
One that the WOF needs to be less than 28days old - Rule 24.2d
The proposal is that if a vehicle has 4x4 challenges log book a current WOF is sufficient. Only 1 vehicle at the moment qualifies for this.
The other rule concerns the third party insurance requirement - Rule24.2e.
If a competition is held on one site and vehicles are not required to go on public roads during the competition is third party insurance necessary?
Although the final ruling will be down to the rules committee what do you think?

Our convenor of the rules committee John Walker is battling a serious health problem at the moment and may not be in a position to answer queries and suggestions on the rules immediately so please email me a copy. g.c.palmer@xtra.co.nz
We wish John every success in his battle.
To those of you that are organising competitions please don’t think that we wish to take over your competition but that we are always pleased to help when and where we can.
Once again if you have any ideas or complaints contact me on the email address above or on my home number (09)273 7257.

See you in the mud George Palmer
