Matters arising

  • Website to be up and running soon with a forum with open access. People to use full names rather than alias. Will be moderated. All paper work will be posted as well. Photos – do we want? As it will cost. Standard fee to be set rather than adhoc amount
  • Written test on rules – can be done online
  • Logbook will become mandatory soon

General Business

  • Scoring driver/truck no combination – Mike Graham
  • Jan to December for competition year
  • Old scoring system should be upgraded
  • Funding – % of entry fee to come to fund 4 x 4 Challenges. Suggested amount 10%. Reason for having run under 4 x 4 challenges, audit and health & safety,
  • Log Book application procedure. One auditor at present– Howard Nattrass. Discussion about fee to be charged to get vehicle checked. Discussion about whether a vehicle has to be passed before a log book is issued. Answer - NO
  • Remove Section 4 from log book application
  • Auditors more needed
  • Change to mounting plate dimensions
  • Suggested pipe dimensions
  • Date against signatures
  • can be available now but will be implemented 1st Jan 08
  • Photo of vehicles to be scanned into log books and 4 x 4 Challenges keeps a copy of log books
  • Written Test – should be up and running for November event

John suggested that a sub committee should go away and sort out. Discussion about this

  • If 2 of 3 of driver/co-driver and truck remain constant the points continue for that calendar year

Darin Neeley moved ‘that from each sanctioned event, 10% of competitor entry fees be paid to 4 x 4 Challenges NZ. This amount to be reviewed annually. To start as of today.’ Seconded Mike Graham

Event

  • Planned for 2nd to 5th November 2007 but land an issue.

Darin Neeley suggested that land available in Whangarei area. Discussion on manpower needed and where this would come from Darin said that if local sponsors were to be involved, the 4x4 Suzuki TV programme that excluded the local sponsors from the last event coverage, would not be welcome without a prior agreement to cover the sponsors interests.
