New rules committee formed
At the October 11th meeting of 4x4 Challenges a new 4x4 Challenges Rules Committee was formed to continue the development of the rules with an 8th version to be released for 2009.
Here's a quick introduction to the new committee members:
Jack Talbot
Originally from Sydney, Jack has a lot of experience in Australian winch challenge events and the development of the CCDA. He's also a frequent participant in the Outback Challenge and a keen competitor in NZ events. Jack is the new convener of the Rules committee and can be reached at rules@4x4challenges.org.nz.
Owen Fillery
An experienced and very successful competitor, Owen also has experience in marshalling, track setting and building his Lexus powered FJ45 LandCruiser.
Justin Williams
Justin is an experienced marshal and stage manager having been involved with the running of the Rotorua Winch Challenge and the Superwinch Tough Truck Challenge. Being based in Rotorua, he provides an important link to the central North Island especially those in Rotorua, Tauranga and Taupo.
Grant Johnson
Grant has been involved with organising and track setting for the Northland 4x4 Challenge over the past 3 years. He's also helped with the development of Darin Neeley's competition vehicle. Grant is located in Whangarei and provides a point of contact for those in Northland.
Peter Vahry
A long standing member of the rules committee, Peter has a good grasp on the history and reasoning for our existing rules. He also has event organising experience and is well versed in environmental and safety issues.
Jeremy Walker
A past competitor and marshal, Jeremy has long been in charge of typing and formatting the rules, ready for distribution.
