Winch Challenge Competition Rules 2010, released

The 4x4 Challenges rules committee have completed and released a further developed set of the well proven Winch Challenge competition rules to be used for the remainder of the 2010 season.

Thank you to all who took the time to contribute to the rule change process.

The major changes in this new version of the rules include; restrictions on allowed fuels for safety, a redesigned rule regarding spare wheels and tyres, a new interpretation of course boundary and a new penalty dispute process with a $20 fee. All rules changes, removed rules and new rules in this version are outlined in the ‘rule changes’ document.

If you have any questions about any of the rules, new or old, send an email to the rules committee at rules@4x4challenges.org.nz.

Rule change submissions are encouraged and accepted at any time during the year, however the formal review is done on an annual basis to reduce the risk of confusion for marshals, competitors and event organisers through sporadic changes throughout a competition year. Please make sure your submissions are well researched and attach all appropriate information needed to make an informed decision. Email your submissions to rules@4x4challenges.org.nz.

The rule review for 2011 has already begun with the largest change being incorporating four separate vehicle classes. Draft versions of these new vehicle rules will be available from this web site, and the rules committee would appreciate any discussion and feedback you can provide, through our discussion forum, or by submission to rules@4x4challenges.org.nz.
